2012 has rolled in – and we are all back in our offices to greet the New Year. Just like the famed Chinese curse, we are living in the interesting times. It is a leap year, presidential election year, and a transition from one World Age into another according to the Mayan prophecies. With the defense bill signed today, and a slew of other changes underway that matter to government contractors, it promises to be an exciting year.
At OST, we also have a few changes and announcements. We are mid-transformation ourselves. We have opened a training and proposal center in Rockville, Maryland, and have doubled our internal team of business development experts (in addition to our pool of more than 800 consultants). We can run up to four proposals from our facility – so if you ever need a war room and help to run a proposal, we are here for you. We have become a government contractor ourselves, in addition to helping other companies get hundreds of millions in contract wins. And, we are opening the Bid and Proposal Academy (with the “official” announcement coming out shortly). It will offer 30 different courses and a certification program for professional capture and proposal managers. Soon we will certify other proposal professionals including business developers, proposal coordinators, writers, financial staff, and project personnel. We also have new webinars planned for 2012, and will even offer a netcast option to broadcast our core curriculum and major courses to remote participants (in response to all of you who have asked us to do so).
Speaking of classes – we are running our first class of 2012 next week, on January 9 and 10 – Winning IDIQs and Task Order Proposals. We have only 5 seats left in this highly popular course that will help you gain an edge over your competition and create excellence in continuously maximizing your participation in an IDIQs. If you haven’t won much on an IDIQ, if in fact you have a few IDIQ vehicles but haven’t seen a return on investment – this class is for you. You will learn exactly how to change your predicament, and implement measures that will transform once and for all the way you write proposals. What our customers say about the Blueprint: “Blueprint [for Winning Government Contracts for Small Businesses]” self-study course is a revelation! As a “seasoned” business developer, capture and proposal manager with 33 years of active duty in the line of fire for employers and clients, I discovered I still had more to learn and Olessia’s course was like the cavalry’s arrival. I can truly say without hesitation that her course is by far better than any other course I have taken — and I have taken several over the years. The course is unique in that it brings together the business development, capture, and proposal management functions as a continuum and it provides amazing details how, when and why to do each function and to whom. No more silos, ivory towers, or excuses not to win! The course will help every business professional regardless of where their office is located how everyone must work together to grow the business. Another realization will be that you can’t cut corners and expect to win, but you can work smarter and you’ll be able to get others to participate — finally. There is so much here that you will want to revisit lessons repeatedly. If you haven’t guessed by now, I highly recommend this course to everyone.”
