JOB DESCRIPTION

Department:        Inertial Engineering                                             Reports To:        CTO / VP of Engineering

 

 

SUMMARY

We are looking for a dedicated individual to work with a small engineering team to deliver state of the art inertial navigation products for military applications. This is a hands-on position involving direct contact with customers, sales, engineers, suppliers and on-site manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include working on contract proposals, tracking project schedules and expenses and establishing relationships with external parties such as customers and suppliers. The focus is to deliver high quality products on time and budget in line with the company’s mission to expand our market share in the military space.

 

 

JOB FUNCTIONS

 

·         Work with Executive management, Sales teams & Product Development Engineers to manage military and commercial engineering programs that deliver quality sensor system products.

·         Drive the product development lifecycle from the conceptual phase, planning, development, testing & release to manufacturing. Also plan for field deployment, maintenance, support and RMA activities.

·         Work with Manufacturing, Planning, Operations and Purchasing for orderly transition of product design from prototype to manufacturability.

·         Create and manage project plans, hold periodic reviews, undertake risk mitigations. Includes tracking of project progress, resources and deadlines.

·         Manage outsourced development and/or testing activities, including compliance and regulatory related items.

·         Interact with customers initially on product specifications, contract preparation and through the design cycle to ensure coordination on schedules and performance expectations.

·         Ensure compliance with internal (e.g., ISO 9001) and customer processes and certifications.

 

 

EDUCATION & ELIGIBILITY

·         BS or MS degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering ...) with 5+ years of experience in engineering project management.

·         Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident due to ITAR regulations.

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Engineering program schedule management.
  • Experience in managing Military/Government programs (e.g., Cost Plus, Fixed Fee, Cost Plus Incentive Fee, Time and Material).
  • Well versed with productivity tools such as MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. and ERP tools
  • Good knowledge of development process from concept to manufacturing ECOs.
  • Good inter-personal skills and ability to work with a variety of functional areas in the company.
  • Good analytical skills and a knack to spot dependencies, issues in managing complex schedules.
  • Knowledge/experience of ISO 9001 and military standards/specifications (“Mil Spec”).

ADDITIONAL DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

  • Technical understanding of inertial guidance systems.
  • “Secret” security clearance.
  • PMP certification.
  • Military contractor work experience 2+ years.
